PLANET OF THE APES (1968)Gorilla Soldier Gauntlet/Glove

An incredibly rare original hero Gauntlet Glove worn by one of the Gorilla Soldiers in the classic first 1968 Planet Of The Apes film starring Charlton Heston.The Gloves for the first film were uniquely made of leather, as were the hero costumes. Subsequent films used a cheaper material and are relatively easier to source.One of the reasons that the first film Gorilla Gloves are so difficult to find is the fact of their contact to water during filming and subsequent poor storage. This led to shrinkage in the hand part of the Gauntlet, as is evident with this rare original surviving example.It may be possible to restore/refurbish this hand area but this would be at the choice of the future owner; as it stands now, it is totally 100% original and a rare example of it's kind.
