Prop Doll
A large prop toy doll made for the classic family Christmas movie starring Dudley Moore.
Hand crafted of wood with added painted detailing. Such prop toys were made specially for the incredible Elf workshop and store sequences.
The protruding nail to the back of the head lends itself to the piece having been secured in position on a wall on set during filming.
The Production intentionally wanted all the toys to be of a traditional style and of handmade wooden construction. A Crew of highly skilled carpenters constructed a multitude of individually crafted wooden toys to fill the required sequences. None of the toys were 'off the shelf' and being handmade, none were totally identical.
A rare and charming prop from the much beloved Christmas movie.
